Front-facing rooms can be noisy due to the motorway, which might pose a problem for light sleepers. There's no on-site restaurant was good, and breakfast options were relatively limited, lacking in gluten-free choices despite prior requests.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and remembered us from last year which was very positive. The food was good quality and well prepared. General atmosphere was welcoming. Beds were exceptionally comfortable.

The breakfast was nice
The hotel is right by the motorway and windows are not double glazed, we found it quite noisy. The corridors stunk of dampness. The honeymoon suite for the price stated was appalling, the carpet in the room and bathroom is stained, the wood around the jacuzzi bath seems to be rotting from the water. The four poster bed was rocking! And the cable for the tv aerial was unplugged. The toilet by the bar downstairs has the lights switched off and only switched on from the bar. The owner has a dog which comes to the restaurant during breakfast and stinks.

Recommend it for a charming experience
The elderly gentleman who owns the place was like a savior for us. Check-in was effortless, and dinner served in the lounge bar was excellent
It wasn't exactly cheap but still acceptable.

A huge variety of goodies for breakfast.

Instead, I got ordinary toast. Don't expect a warm welcome, the front desk was barely staffed, and john's customer service was non-existent. Being a valued guest, I woudl have liked a complimentary gesture, but guess that's too much to ask!

The beds were really comfortable. The food was simple but well cooked and very generous portions. Eclectic mix of ornaments and decorations. Very easy to get to, and close to motorway.
The hotel is family run, and the service is welcoming but not completely professional. It is slightly disconcerting, but still ok. The room was clean, but the carpet really needed replacing, especially in the bathroom where it had been marked and bleached. It is also right by the motorway so road noise is marked.

We loved rooms with breakfast included which turned out to be continental style breakfast.

The perfect spot for a short stopover, especially if you're driving along the motorway. I loved the charming atmosphere, with a lovely roaring fire greeting us in the reception area and delightful antique decor all around. The breakfast was impressive, especially the scrambled eggs on toast, cooked just right! Just bear in mind that the stairs can be quite steep, so it's something to consider if you have mobility issues.

Convienient stop over for travelling to main destination as it is verry close to motorway connection.
Desk attendent mader it clear that as we were on a special offer price for the room, that we were not at the top of his priority list with information or service.

We arrived tired after a long drive and the owner like a savior kept the bar open for us. The breakfast was fine, croissants were fresh and the spread was excellent!
It wasn't exactly a bargain but it was still acceptable.
